Gutters do one job: carry water off your roof and away from your home. When they’re clogged, sagging or undersized, water spills over the edge, stains siding, erodes landscaping, soaks your foundation and feeds ice dams in winter. Homegrown Exteriors, LLC installs and replaces gutters, downspouts and gutter guards across western Wisconsin.
We’re fully insured, hold a Wisconsin Dwelling Contractor credential, and gutter estimates are free. Call 715-710-2400 or request a gutter estimate.

Signs you need new gutters
- Water spilling over the gutters during rain
- Gutters sagging or pulling away from the house

- Peeling paint or stains on siding below the gutters
- Washed-out mulch, puddles or erosion along the foundation
- A damp basement or water in the crawl space
- Heavy icicles and ice dams every winter
Gutters, snow and ice dams
In northwestern Wisconsin, gutters carry a lot more than rain. Heavy snow and ice put real weight on them, and clogged gutters can trap melting snow at the roof edge where it refreezes. Secure hangers, correct pitch and enough downspout capacity help gutters survive winter and drain properly during spring melt. We also look at the roof edge, drip edge and attic ventilation, since roofing details play a big part in ice dams.
How gutter installation works
- Free estimate. We measure your roof lines, check the fascia and look at where water is going now.
- Plan the system. We recommend gutter size, downspout locations and whether guards make sense for your trees.
- Installation. Any rotted fascia is repaired, then gutters and downspouts are installed and tested.
- Cleanup. We haul away old gutters and debris and walk the finished job with you.

Gutter FAQs
Do I need 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?
It depends on your roof area, pitch and how much water flows to each section. Larger, steeper roofs often benefit from 6-inch gutters and larger downspouts. We’ll size the system for your home.
Are gutter guards worth it?
If you have trees near the house, guards can greatly reduce how often you need to clean your gutters. They don’t make gutters maintenance-free, and we’ll be honest about whether they’re worth it for your home.
Do gutters cause ice dams?
Ice dams are mainly caused by heat escaping into the attic, but clogged gutters can make them worse by holding water and ice at the roof edge. Clean, properly pitched gutters plus good attic ventilation help.
How long does gutter installation take?
Most homes are done in about a day, depending on size and any fascia repairs needed.
Can you replace gutters at the same time as my roof?
Yes, and it’s often the best time. We can coordinate the drip edge, roof edge and gutters together so they work as one system.
