  3. Clear written estimate. You get an itemized proposal with the scope of work spelled out.
  4. Installation. We remove the old siding, repair any damaged sheathing we find, install the weather barrier and flashing, then the new siding and trim.
  5. Cleanup and walkthrough. We haul away debris, sweep for nails and walk the finished home with you.

Siding season doesn’t end in the fall

Unlike roofing, siding work can often continue into late fall and winter, weather permitting. It’s a great time to get on our schedule, especially if you want the project done before spring.

Why the details matter in Wisconsin

Siding has to handle wide temperature swings, driving rain and wind-blown snow. Proper installation leaves room for expansion and contraction, keeps water out with flashing at every window, door and roof line, and lets the wall dry if moisture gets behind it. Those are the parts you never see, and they’re what make siding last.

If your roof or windows are also near the end of their life, doing them alongside siding lets us flash and trim everything together for a cleaner, tighter result.

Siding FAQs

How much does new siding cost?

Cost depends on the size of your home, the material you choose, how many windows and corners need trim, and whether any wall sheathing needs repair. We provide a free, itemized estimate so you can compare options.

Can new siding go over my old siding?

In most cases we recommend removing the old siding. It lets us inspect and repair the wall underneath, install a proper weather barrier and flashing, and gives you a flatter, longer-lasting finish.

Can you install siding in the winter?

Often, yes. Siding work can continue through much of the colder season, weather permitting. We take extra care with materials in cold temperatures and will let you know if conditions call for waiting.

How long does a siding project take?

It depends on the size of the home and the scope. Many siding projects take about one to two weeks. We’ll give you a timeline with your estimate.

Will new siding make my home more energy efficient?

New siding with a properly installed weather barrier reduces drafts and air leaks. Insulated siding can add a bit more. We’ll explain the real-world difference between options so you can decide what’s worth it.
